Neil Jackman Bespoke furniture was founded to satisfy a passion for producing traditionally crafted, high quality furniture, hand crafted boxes, and other custom-made commissions designed to the client’s specific requirements.
Working from his studio situated in the grounds of the beautiful Thoresby Estate Neil works predominantly in hardwoods such as Oak and Walnut and specializes in incorporating exotic burrs and marquetry within his work. This provides endless ,exciting avenues that would otherwise not be possible, the only limit is your own imagination.
As a boy Neil always showed an interest in the creative arts studying both Art and Design and Music before leaving education and becoming a professional musician, playing bass guitar professionally around the world.
A keen wood-worker, Neil decided to design and create his own musical instrument, an experience that would prove to be a turning point. He enjoyed the experience so much that he went on to hone his skills by training formally as a furniture maker before opening his first workshop at the Sherwood Forest Art and Craft Centre.
Since then Neil has expanded and relocated his workshop and showroom to the grounds of the historic Thoresby estate where he offers furniture and fine boxes as well as other unique handcrafted items.
"Have nothing in your home you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful"
